Shoes of Hope is an event held in August in conjunction with Samaritan’s feet. We collect names of children in and out of foster care that are in need of shoes and school supplies. On the day of the event each child gets a new pair of shoes, a very cool book bag filled with school supplies. We want these children to feel “normal” as they return to school. Some of these children have never been able to choose a new book bag or pick out new shoes, so this event gives hope to their world. 2015 date was August 18th and we took care of over 200 children! We took care of children in Catawba, Mecklenburg, Lincoln, Rutherford and Polk County.
