Bridging the Gap in the Foster Care Community
A bag of hope is a large, monogrammed, personalized duffel bag for a child in foster/kinship care. When we receive the request, we ask for the child’s preferences such as favorite color, toys and clothing styles. We pack the bag full of things they need and want. Each bag contains new clothing, socks, underwear, pajamas, toiletries, blanket, stuffed animal, toy, a handwritten note, an age appropriate Bible and more. Our goal is to get these bags ready within a week of a child coming into care. These bags are just a start in restoring hope and giving back a piece of what the child has lost.
Our volunteers pack the bags at our office in Gastonia. Bags of Hope can be picked up at our office as well as locations in Shelby, Marion, Morganton, Albemarle, Charlotte and Cornelius. Please make the request on the Bag of Hope form.
