Bags of Hope
A bag of hope is a duffel bag for a child in foster care. When the child comes in care, we are given their first name and a list of items they need or want. Each bag is specifically designed for that particular child and is packed with care including a special note from one of our volunteers and an age appropriate Bible. Our goal is to get these bags ready within a week of the request. These bags are just a start in restoring hope and giving back a piece of what the child has lost. This is such an integral part of what we do. Children in foster care and their caregivers have come to rely on LOTC for this small piece of hope.
Bags of Hope Statistics:
2013 – 2022 We’ve provided Bags of Hope for 2917 children. In 2022 alone, we served 643 children.
That is a monetary value of over $940,000! We rely completely on private donors and grants to fund our “Bag of Hope” program.
